Double blessing for Mercy Johnson and hubby

Year 2019 ended well for the family of Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie. She confirmed that her fourth child was on the way while her politician husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, completed a luxury hotel, Henod, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos.
The hotel, which was declared opened by Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has modern and international facilities. Despite located in an area basically occupied by low income earners, it can compete for a five-star hotel.
Although Oshiomhole couldn’t make it to launch, he was ably represented by Federal Commissioner representing Edo State at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Victor Egboigbe.
Okojie, on why he built a luxury hotel in Abule Egba, said, “For me, as a business person, I do not think the location is a barrier. It is no barrier, not in any way because the people who live in this axis are human beings. I also believe in giving opportunities to different people; that is why I decided to bring something that people in Lagos believe is for people on the island to the mainland. A lot of people who live in this axis, when they want to unwind or want to see good things, they go to the island, which is the part of Lagos I also live in. But I believe that once we have something good here, people will not have a need to go to the Island anymore.”
To make his dream a reality, the businessman built a road. But, according to him, he is not in the position to tackle the government on roads in Abule Egba. He narrated, ”As for the bad roads, I can’t really say anything about that. For example, I built the road where my hotel is located. That is the best I can do as a citizen and a business owner. I don’t believe in making money or profit, I simply believe in creating employment. I believe that it is not just the responsibility of the government to create employment; individuals on should find a way to create employment in their own space. That is what we are trying to do with Henod.”
It was, however, learnt that the couple have a strong connection with Abule Egba. It was gathered from a reliable source that Mercy once lived in the area and their romance story began there too.
