GOVERNOR MATAWALLE MOVES TO SAVE THE LIFE OF Sheikh IBRAHIM IBRAHIM

In his avowed determination to save the life of every Zamfaran, Governor Bello MUHAMMAD has engaged the services of competent Lawyers to save the life of Ibrahim Ibrahim from death sentence in Saudi Arabia.

The Governor also sent his Commissioner for Special Duties and the Special Adviser on Judicial Matters to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to monitor the court proceedings which is coming up tomorrow (Tuesday, 18/2/2020).

Governor Matawalle, earlier met with President Muhammadu Buhari and appealed on behalf of Ibrahim Ibrahim whose judgement was scheduled for a few weeks back on charges of drug trafficking. But the case was however, adjourned to a later date.

Ibrahim, an Islamic cleric, was wrongly arrested in Saudi Arabia and arraigned before the court but could not sufficiently prove his case due to lack of a lawyer. He was earlier cleared by two lower courts in Jedda for lack of evidence on the part of the prosecution.

However, the prosecution appealed against him in Makka where he was expected to have a lawyer or risk execution judgement.

To this end, President Muhammadu Buhari directed the Minister of of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to handle the matter appropriately in order to save the innocent life of Ibrahim Ibrahim.
