Prof. Sir Victor Uwaifo (M.O.N), a popular musical legend, has died, according to reports reaching ENigeria Newspaper.
Sir Victor Efosa Uwaifo, who was born on March 1, 1941, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, died at the age of 80. His stage name is “Guitar Boy,” and he is well-known for it.

He is regarded as the most educated performing music legend, as well as a writer, sculptor, and inventor of musical instruments, as well as a University instructor in the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Benin in Benin City.

Sir Victor Uwaifo, a legendary singer and musician, has died.

On Saturday, a close family insider confirmed this to The Nation.

According to the report, he died after a brief illness.

In March, the ‘Guitar boy,’ as he was affectionately known, turned 80 years old.

Uwaifo is also the first professional musician to get the Member of the Order of the Niger National Merit Honours (MON).

He also served as Nigeria’s first Commissioner for Arts, Culture, and Tourism.
