Shock, Sighs in Yorubaland as Olori Naomi Announces Separation from the Ooni of Ife

There are conflicting sides to the news making the rounds about the purported separation of the wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, from her husband, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Checks by THE LAGOSIAN from sources close to the palace of the Ooni of Ife however revealed that there are certain twists and turns to the development as being widely reported in the media. The sources revealed that even up till yesterday, (Wednesday), there were no foreboding signs that such issues would ever come up. The development appears to have come as a rude shock according to the palace sources who pleaded for time to get to the root of it considering the fact that even His Imperial Majesty has been out of town attending to a musical concert for young tslents he’s sponsoring in Lagos.
The source is also of the opinion that it may be another unfounded hoax like the one that happened some times ago until Olori Naomi herself came to clear the air.
It would be recalled that the monarch’s wife, in a post on her Instagram page, explicitly hints at her decision to be separated from the paramount Yoruba monarch.
She wrote:
“Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”
She further debunked the insinuation that her separation from the Ooni was based on the fact that the King has another woman in his life.
In her words:
“Few impressions I would love to correct. If anyone knows otherwise, they are free to come up with facts. Let it be known that this decision to move on did not come because his majesty is married to another queen. As many would love to assume, throughout our life as a couple, I was the only married wife to him. There were side attractions, but it was never an issue.”

Meanwhile opinions are divided as to the propriety of the decision of the Olori to make such an announcement via social media, considering her status as a well respected consort of His Majesty. Some are of the opinion that she should have allowed respected sons and daughters of Oodua to intervene before making the post while others are commending her for this most shocking announcement. Most are however expressing the wish that this would be resolved amicably in the interest of the Yoruba Nation.
