Defection: Cout Adjourns Case Against Gov Matawalle

The case filed by the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Zamfara State Chapter challenging the defection of Zamfara Governor Bello Mohammed Matawallen Maradun from the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has again been adjourned by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The Governor was dragged before Justice Eko Iyang of the Federal High Court 5 Abuja following his defection to the All Progressives Congress in June 202.
In the Originating Summons the PDP wants the court to remove the Governor from office and replace him with a bonafade member of the PDP.
The oposition PDP also wants the Court to compell him to refund all salaries and allowances paid to him.
The case has been going on for more than one year.
When the matter came up today 27/10/22 for hearing, the judge suo moto informed the counsels to the parties that he will not hear case now, because he awaits the outcome of the Judgement of the Supreme Court in the case of Dave Umahi, the Governor of Ebonyi State. The matter has been adjourned to 30/3/2023 for hearing.
