As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) opens its collation centre in readiness to receive presidential election results, residents of Maradun local government, the hometown of Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, have disclosed that they voted 95 percent for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kassim Shetimma, during the poll.

As gathered, they were led by the governor to ensure that the APC presidential candidate and others vying for elective seats were adequately voted for during the exercise in the state.

It was learnt that Maradun, the governor’s hometown recorded a large turnout and votes for the ruling party, making it the leading local government where votes were recorded for the APC, especially the presidential candidates.

A resident of Maradun, Muhammad Lawal, who disclosed this on Sunday, said, Matawalle as the North West Coordinator for Tinubu/Shatima campaign council has to prove his love and capacity for the party, and basically, he has delivered the promising votes for Mr. Tinubu.

As for the remaining local governments, Muhammad stated that Zamfara is the only state in the entire North West whose local government councils delivered over 70 percent votes for Tinubu and Shatima.

“So far Zamfara has been able to deliver over 70% votes even though the collation of results is still ongoing and from the look of things the 90% projection made for Tinubu is visible”.

He thanked the people of Zamfara for voting for Tinubu massively and assured them that he would do his best to deliver well for the people of Zamfara and Nigeria by extension.
