Ever since his first forays into politics as youth leader of the UPN in 1979 he has not looked back. He contested at PDP party primaries for Lagos state governor in 2007 & 2011 before getting a breakthrough and became a gubernatorial candidate under the banner of Alliance for Democracy AD in 2019.
He had a credible outing at the elections but it could have been better with a more transparent mechanism. That is why he and his party AD went to the Lagos state electoral tribunal. The matter is ongoing at the Supreme court presently. A reform of the electoral system can not therefore be over emphasised.
