Zamfara State Excutive Governor, Hon Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle (Matawallen Maradun) has again reiterated his administration’s commitment to end banditry in Zamfara.
The Governor made this known today when he received his Sokoto State Counterpart, Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal who led a special delegation from Sokoto to Congratulate Governor Matawalle over his victory as the governor of the state.
Matawalle said his Government is determined to end banditry activities in the state as he has already adopted different methods and has total belief that with prayers from people of the State and the neighboring states the issue will vary soon become history.
He stated that if the process of restoring peace is achieved in Zamfara State, peace will be restored in all the neighboring states of Sokoto, Katsina and Kaduna.
The Governor also urged for the sharing of genuine intelligence between Sokoto and Zamfara governments on daily basis towards a collective effort to end the heinous crimes in the two states.
Matawalle added that the peace talk initiated by his administration has reached advanced stage and soon Zamfara will start sharing the good reports.
He explained that when peace is achieved people of the State will start to sleep with their two eyes closed without any fear of being killed or attacked innocently.
The Governor also thanked Governor Tambuwal for the brotherly visit and assured of his government’s readiness to cooperate with Sokoto in achieving success in all matters of human development.
Matawalle who described the visit as an encouragement to his purposeful leadership towards ending banditry in Zamfara stressed that he will not relent or be deterred until peace is fully attained.
Earlier, governor Tambuwal said he was in the state to congratulate his colleague and strengthen the cordial relationship between the two states.
The Governor was also accompanied by the former governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, government officials and politicians.
