GOVERNOR MATAWALLE COMMENDS THE FORESIGHT OF PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI FOR CREATING MINISTRY OF HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT.
His Excellency, Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon Dr. Bello Mohammed MON (Matawallen Maradun)has commended the foresight of President Muhammadu Buhari for creating the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in the country.
The Governor made the commendation today when he visited the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk at her office in Abuja.
Governor Matawalle said the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to create the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management is commendable and a sign of his administration’s determination to improve the living standards of those affected by different disasters and calamities in the country which ranged from victims of Boko Haram insurgency, Cattle rustling and armed banditry.
He noted with happiness that this is the first time a government created a ministry of such nature with the view of reducing hardship emanating from various disasters in the country.
Matawalle added that the ministry will change the lives of many Nigerians and heal them from the wounds they experienced .
He also applauded the appointment of Zamfara State indigene as the pioneer Minister of the Ministry, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk believing that her tenure as Ministers of Humanitarian Affairs will bring more development to the nation.
The Governor also assured his administration’s support and cooperation for the Minister to succeed irrespective of their party differences.
Responding, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk thanked the Governor for the visit and promised to contribute her own quota towards the development of Zamfara State.
She also urged the Governor to continue with the Security strategy he adopted in tackling insecurity and ensuring return of normalcy in the State.
Hajiya Sadiya also informed the Governor that the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to improve the living standards of those affected by various humanitarian crisis in the country.
During the visit the Governor was accompanied by the Honourable Commissioners of Special Duties and Finance, Honourable Muhammadu Maiturare Sadiq and Honourable Rabiu Garba Gusau respectively.
Others on the governor’s entourage Include his Principal Private Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Jaafar Maradun and Special advisers of Media and Protocols Honourable Zailani Bappa and Honourable Umar Sani Katuka among others.
